red oak
A highly livable wood, red oak suits many looks, and particularly suits living rooms and bedrooms. Engineered for additional stability, age resistance and versatility, our red oak planks are strong and long-lasting and can be installed over radiant heat systems. The process uses formaldehyde free adhesives.
The castle collection red oak is an engineered hardwood 5" wide with a 1/2" thickness (3.2mm wear layer of wood) and a micro-beveled edge. It is mounted on 7-ply birchback. It is not suitable to be installed over radiant heating systems.
The galleria collection red oak is an engineered hardwood 3 3/4" wide with a 9/16" thickness (4mm wear layer of wood) and a square edge. It is mounted on 8-ply, cross-ply plywood backing. The adhesives used in making galleria collection are phenolic glue which is free from formaldehyde. The grooves on the backside of each board allow for conforming to slight irregularities in the sub-floor area and also act as heat vents where radiant heating is installed. This product can be installed over radiant heating systems.
